About Organic Cotton

Cotton is one of the most widely used natural fibres in the world. It's also one of the most chemically intensive crops in conventional agriculture, accounting for a disproportionate share of global pesticide use relative to the land it occupies.

Organic cotton changes that relationship fundamentally.

How it's grown

Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilisers. Instead it relies on crop rotation, natural pest control, and soil regeneration techniques that work with the land rather than depleting it. The result is healthier soil, cleaner water sources, and farming systems that support rather than damage the ecosystems around them.

For the people growing it, the absence of synthetic chemicals means safer working conditions and reduced exposure to toxic inputs. For the soil, organic methods build long-term fertility rather than extracting it.

How it feels

The difference isn't only environmental. Organic cotton processed without harsh chemical treatments retains the integrity of the fibre in a way that conventionally processed cotton doesn't always. The result is fabric that is naturally soft, breathable, and durable through repeated wear.

A well made garment from quality organic cotton will hold its shape and feel over time rather than thinning, pilling, or losing its structure after a few months of regular use. That longevity is part of what makes it the right material for everyday essentials like our men's organic cotton joggers and organic cotton sweatpants, garments worn regularly and kept for years.

Certification

Not all organic cotton claims are equal. GOTS certification, the Global Organic Textile Standard, is the most rigorous independent verification available, covering not just the farming but the entire production process from field to finished garment.

Our white organic cotton boxer shorts carry full GOTS certification. Across the rest of the range, we source from certified organic suppliers and use 100% cotton construction throughout, including sewing threads and trims.

Why it matters

Choosing organic cotton is not a gesture. It's a material decision with real consequences for the land it comes from, the people who grow it, and the person wearing it every day.

We use it because it's the right material for clothing designed to last, and because if we're going to make clothing from cotton, it should actually be cotton. All of it.
