Semi-precious Stone Beaded Bracelets FAQs

How can I tell if a gemstone is real?

Natural stones are typically cool to the touch and vary slightly in colour or inclusion, whereas plastic is warm and perfectly uniform.

How snug should a bracelet be for everyday wear?

We suggest the two finger rule. You should be able to slip two fingers between your wrist and the bracelet. This ensures enough room for movement without the bracelet being too loose.

Where should a bracelet sit on the wrist?

Your bracelet should rest at the base of your wrist, just above where your hand begins. This spot allows for natural movement and keeps your bracelet visible.

How should I put on an elastic beaded bracelet?

Do not stretch the bracelet to pull it over your hand. Instead, place it over your fingers and roll it gently up over your palm and wrist to avoid weakening the elastic.

How do I clean my beaded bracelet?

Gently with a soft toothbrush or cloth dipped in warm water with a small amount of mild soap.
Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth and allow to air dry completely.
Avoid using strong chemical cleaners.

Can I use an ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning beaded bracelets?

Using an ultrasonic cleaner on beaded bracelets is generally NOT recommended, as the high frequency vibrations and heat can damage or destroy many types of beads, particularly porous stones (pearls, turquoise, amber) and organic materials. The process can also snap the cord causing the bracelet to break.

How should I store my beaded bracelets?

Store them flat inside a jewellery box to prevent stretching and breakage.
Keep them away from direct sunlight, which can fade certain stones (like Amethyst or Rose Quartz) and weaken the elastic.

How can I prevent the bracelet from breaking?

Avoid pulling or putting unnecessary tension on the elastic.
Remove the bracelet before sleeping.
Check regularly for signs of fraying or loosening.

Will the elastic stretch over time?

Yes, the elastic on beaded bracelets will stretch and loosen over time due to natural wear, the weight of the beads, and constant taking on and off. To minimise this roll the bracelet onto your wrist rather than pulling it.

What should I do if my bracelet breaks?

Call or email us and we'll fix it for you, free of charge. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to repair it yourself, simply replace the elastic cord by restringing the beads onto new stretch elastic, tying a secure surgeon's knot, adding a drop of glue, and hiding the knot inside a bead.

Can I wear my beaded bracelet in water?

No. It is highly recommended to remove beaded bracelets before showering, swimming in pools (chlorine), or swimming in the ocean (saltwater). These can degrade the elastic and damage porous stones.
