Description
The beads in The Loch Lomond are turned from oak staves reclaimed from a whisky distillery in the Loch Lomond area of Scotland. The staves spent years holding maturing Scotch whisky before being reclaimed and worked by hand. The deep grain, the warm tones, the subtle character in every bead are written into the wood by years of maturation.
Eighteen of the twenty beads are turned from these staves. The remaining two are unique pairings of contrasting British timbers, chosen by the maker for each individual bracelet. No two bracelets will ever be identical.
Every bead is hand turned, sanded, sealed and finished with three coats of museum grade microcrystalline wax. Satin finish, warm to the touch. Strung on strong elastic with a sterling silver Rolf Skeldon tag. Presented in a gift box.

Details & Care
Hand turned wooden beads are not identical. Each one is worked individually on a lathe, shaped by hand, and inspected before finishing. You may notice small differences in size, shape, and grain pattern between beads. This is what handmade means.

Wooden beads are durable but benefit from a little care. Keep away from water and prolonged exposure to sunlight. Surface marks through everyday wear are normal and part of the natural ageing of the wood. Store in the gift box provided and clean gently with a dry lint free cloth.
